Habila, a survivor of an attack by Islamic extremists, has stated that he was shot for refusing to deny his Christian faith.
In a video shared by Channels Television from 1:23, Habila said the Islamic extremists confronted him and questioned why he had refused to accept Islam despite their repeated efforts to convert him.
Habila said they asked him several times to renounce his faith in exchange for his life, but he refused each time. He stated that one of the extremists told him he could live only if he agreed to deny being a Christian. However, he said he told them he was ready to die as a Christian and would never abandon his faith.
Habila said before he could finish speaking, one of the extremists fired at him through his nose, leaving him seriously wounded.
In Habila’s words: “He said, ‘It is okay, are you a Christian?’ I said, ‘Yes, I am a Christian.’ He said, ‘Habila, why is that we have been preaching the Islamic way of gospel to you, but you refuse to accept Islam?’ And I told them that I am a Christian. He said, ‘Habila, you can deny your faith in order to be safe.’ I said, ‘No, I am a Christian.’ He said, ‘Habila, do you mean you are ready to die as a Christian?’ I said, ‘Yes, I am ready to die as a Christian.’ One of them tried to fire me, but the leader stopped him and said, ‘Habila, you are a good man. We know your history. You have the opportunity to live only if you can deny your faith; we can leave you, and you can leave.’ I said, ‘No, I cannot deny my faith; I am a Christian.’ He said, ‘Habila, I will give you a last chance; are you ready to die as a Christian?’ I said, ‘Yes, I am ready to die as a Christian.’ Before I closed my mouth, one of them fired me through my nose.” View, More,
