The Lagos State Police Commissioner Olanrewaju Ishola has issued urgent safety advisories to ride-hailing service drivers following the arrest of four suspects in a recent murder case of an Uber Driver.

Speaking during a Channels TV broadcast From 0:46, CP Ishola explained how the suspect killed the Uber driver. “We blindfolded the suspects because the investigation is still in place,” he stated, before detailing the tragic incident: “The four blindfolded young men hired the Uber man and stabbed him to death inside his Toyota Camry. It was this chaos that alerted our operatives.”

The Police Commissioner delivered a direct warning to ride-hailing service operators across Lagos. “I would like to tell Lagosians, especially people involved in this Uber thing, Taxify ride, and all these stuff. Be wary of your passengers,” he cautioned. He proceeded to outline specific safety recommendations: “If it’s possible, don’t carry more than one passenger at a time, and insist such a fellow is searched and make him sit at the front with you.”

Expressing concern about the rising frequency of such attacks, he noted, “This is just the third of its kind that we have detected in 3 months. We don’t know how many have happened, and such are the cases of brutalities around us now.”
