‎‎According to a report by Punch, on Tuesday March 10, 2026, Iran has stated that it will continue its missile attacks and has ruled out immediate talks with the United States as fighting in the Middle East continues to escalate.

‎Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, said on Tuesday that negotiations with Washington are no longer being considered, according to him, Iran has had unpleasant experiences in past discussions with the United States, making new talks unlikely at this time.

‎The conflict began after the United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iran on February 28, the attacks reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, and brought a wider military confrontation across the region.

‎The strikes came shortly before another round of diplomatic negotiations between Washington and Tehran was expected to take place, officials had already held three rounds of discussions, and mediators from Oman had said earlier talks were making progress.

‎Iranian leaders say these attacks are meant to defend the country and respond to the earlier military action, the war has also affected global trade and energy supply, shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil routes, has been disrupted.

‎Iranian forces have reportedly targeted oil tankers moving through the area since the conflict began, raising concerns about the stability of global oil markets.

‎Iranian officials insist the country did not start the war but is responding to what they describe as aggression, stating that its military operations will continue as long as it considers necessary.
