Chidi Lloyd, a former Local Government Chairman of Emohua, has disagreed with the claim that the political structure in Rivers State has been taken from the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike following the Local government election in the weekend.
He pointed out that the Rivers State electoral law was not followed in the conduct of the election. He argued that the APP win in the LG election does not constitute a victory over the PDP dominance in the state.
He said in an interview with Channels TV from 15:49, ‘I had the privilege of authoring the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission law, so I can tell you what the provisions are, and I know they haven’t been followed. Some people claim that a structure has been taken, but what structure has been taken? You stand in Government House and write names of 23 people who couldn’t access their offices due to the crisis in the so-called new political party.
And you say you have won over us? But this isn’t the time; when it is, we’ll know who’s who. Those running around the governor today couldn’t deliver their polling units; these are internally displaced politicians masquerading as elders in Rivers State.”
