Former federal lawmaker and socio-political commentator, Shehu Sani, has reacted to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s statement that the controversial tax reform bill will be passed.
President Tinubu made this during a nationwide broadcasted media chat with reporters on Monday where he discussed pressing issues affecting the country.
According to VANGUARD, the president argued that the tax reform bill is here to stay. He pointed out that the government cannot retool the country’s economy with the old broken books. He expressed confidence that he can make it come possible through the current reforms.
Former Senator Shehu Sani took to his social media account on X, formerly known as Twitter, to react to the statement. He stated that the most interesting part of the media chat was Tinubu’s readiness to engage with stakeholders to address the controversies surrounding the tax reform bill.
Shehu Sani’s post reads, “The most interesting part of the media chat is the President’s expression of his readiness to discuss and reach a consensus on the contentious aspects of the Tax Reform Bill. His claim on the improvement of security in most areas in the North is true.”
