A former lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central, Senator Shehu Sani has taken to his official X account to react after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the upgrade of 14 power substations.
According to the post that the former Kaduna lawmaker shared on his page on Tuesday, he said the approval was done during the Federal Executive Council, FEC meeting at the State House in Abuja.
Senator Shehu Sani said the President also approved the construction of 21 new power stations.
Shehu Sani stated that he doesn’t know much about the €161 million that was budgeted for the project, but he believes that the decision will address the issue of the national grid that has been collapsing constantly.
According to Senator Shehu Sani on his page;
“The most important item in the FEC meeting is the approval of the upgrade of the country’s 14 power substations and the construction of 21 new ones. I don’t know much about the budget of €161m for the project, but I believe this unprecedented action will address the incessant problem of national grid collapse and improve Nigeria’s power generation capacity”.
