In a recent video posted on Symfoni TV , former Ikwerre Local Government Chairman, Samuel Nwanosike, has emphasized the need for constitutional adherence and inclusive governance in Rivers State.

Speaking on the resolution of current political tensions, Nwanosike expressed confidence in the legal process. “Our laws are spelled out clearly, and we will wait for those with the mandate to interpret them to the last level,” he stated. He then shared his optimistic outlook, adding, “Rivers State will find peace, and we will get a true leader to govern the state under the rule of law.”

The former chairman criticized what he perceived as exclusionary governance practices. “If the governor respects the people of Rivers, he will not say he alone allowed the assembly to sit,” Nwanosike declared. He further elaborated, “That means the governor sees only himself as a true Rivers man, while others do not exist.”

Emphasizing the democratic mandate of elected officials, Nwanosike concluded with a reminder about representative governance: “But we will remind the governor that the people gave the mandate to assembly members.”
