Former Senator Shehu Sani has voiced his concerns regarding the continued high prices of drugs in pharmaceutical shops despite the removal of customs duties on imported medicines.

In a statement made on his verified Twitter account, Sani highlighted the discrepancy between the government’s policy and its impact on drug prices, expressing disappointment that the anticipated reduction in prices has not materialized.

Sani questioned the effectiveness of the policy, pointing out that the removal of customs duties was intended to make essential medicines more affordable for Nigerians. However, he noted that this has not been the case, with drug prices remaining high and out of reach for many citizens.
