The former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has reacted after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL invited him to come and tour the Port-Harcourt Refinery and Warri Refinery.
According to PUNCH, Obasanjo was invited by NNPCL spokesman, Femi Soneye to come and tour the refineries.
Femi Soneye was quoted as saying;
“We extend an open invitation to former President Obasanjo for a tour of the rehabilitated refineries to witness firsthand the progress made under the new NNPC Limited.”
However, the former President has now reacted to the invitation through his media aide, Kehinde Adeyemi.
In the report that surfaced online, Adeyemi stated that it is disrespectful to invite Obasanjo without sending a formal letter.
He said that is not the right way to invite a former President.
He was quoted as saying that
“Is there any official letter addressed to him, inviting him to the refinery? It is an absolute insult, and the former President cannot dignify such with a response”.
