In a recent statement via her official X account, former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has spoken out against the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
The senator was suspended amid her ongoing dispute with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, whom she accused of s£xual harassment.
Ezekwesili expressed her views and criticized the actions of some male senators, suggesting they were abusing their power.
She also praised Senator Natasha for her courage and described her as an inspiration to many.
“Did I just hear a voice of a Senator say : ‘She’s not coming back’ to Senator @NatashaAkpoti ? Wonderful. When men because of little power fleetingly acquired start speaking like they are God, we all must remember what History reveals of their kind. Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. You have inspired a Generation. You have inspired all credible citizens. You. Will. Never. Walk. Alone,” Oby Ezekwesili wrote.
Reports indicate that the Senate suspended Natasha after a heated session.
Some senators were heard making remarks suggesting she would not be allowed back.
This has brought outrage among many Nigerians, who see the move as unfair.
Senator Natasha has been vocal about her allegations against the Senate President.
She claims that her suspension is an attempt to silence her.
Ezekwesili’s statement gained widespread attention, many social media users supported her views and called for an end to what they described as oppression.
