A member of the National Assembly and staunch member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ikenga Ugochinyere, has taken to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share a press release made by the party that he is still a member, contrary to the purported expulsion by the Ideato North Local Government Chapter of the party.

According to a post on the official X handle of Ikenga Ugochinyere, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP maintained that a member of the National Assembly cannot be suspended or expelled without the approval of the national leadership.

Ikenga Ugochinyere had shared in parts, “The NWC states that Hon. Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu remains a bona fide member of the PDP with all rights, privileges, recognition, obligations, and charges all leaders, critical stakeholders, members, and supporters of our Party in Imo State and the nation to disregard the purported expulsion. The NWC calls on all Party members in Imo State to remain united and continue to work together in the overall interest of our Party and the people.”
