Yamorom Kachalla, a victim of Boko Haram terrorist attack has shared the challenges she faces as a mother.

Speaking in an interview with Channels TV from 1:50, Kachalla said that she wants her children to be educated and have a better future but people in her community refuse to associate with her children because of their background. She explained that her children are often called Boko Haram children. She said “I want my children to be educated but no one wants to come close to them, they keep calling them Boko Haram children”

Another girl, Fatimah Mohammed, also spoke about her struggles as an orphan affected by the insurgency. She mentioned that she had always wanted to go to school but was unable to because of the security situation. She disclosed that for a long time, she had no choice but to stay away from education for her own safety. However, she shared that after relocating to a new place, she finally got the chance to join a school. She said “I have always wanted to go to school but because of the security situation I had no choice but to stay away. But since we came here I have joined one of the schools”
