In a notable observation about Nigeria’s religious dynamics, former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has drawn attention to what he perceives as a significant change in the practice of annual prophecies by religious leaders.

The former federal lawmaker, known for his outspoken commentary on social and political issues, shared his thoughts through his official X (formerly Twitter) platform.

“I have observed that Most of the men of God who used to prophesy what will happen from the beginning to the end of the year have just gone silent,” Sani stated in his social media post, highlighting what appears to be a departure from the long-standing tradition of yearly predictions by religious figures.

The observation comes at a time when religious prophecies have traditionally played a significant role in Nigeria’s social and cultural fabric. Historically, many religious leaders in the country have made it a practice to release annual predictions covering various aspects of national life, from politics to economics and social developments.
