Former Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu recently urged people to pray for the Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo.
In a video shared by Channels TV from 41:49, Shaibu expressed concern that there might be a kind of negative influence or “spirit” that affects governors, particularly in their second terms, making them focus more on personal interests rather than public service. Shaibu called on people to pray for Okpebholo to resist any such “spirit” and to remain committed to the state’s development.
In Shaibu’s exact words: “Something is telling me maybe there is one spirit on that seat that changes their mentality. Because when I spoke to Obaseki, the kind of hopes that he gave when we were in the first term, it is not the same Obaseki that I know first term that I know second term. So that is why for me I always tell people to pray for Okpebholo. Pray for Okpebholo. And why I am saying they should pray for him is so that if there is one negative spirit that is on that seat, let us destroy the spirit now and let Okpebholo end better than Obaseki”
