In a report by Daily Post on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, Pastor Paul Enenche, the founder of Dunamis International Gospel Center, reacted to the death of Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu.
The Arise News presenter, popularly known as Sommie, died during a violent armed robbery in Katampe, Abuja.
According to earlier reports, Somtochukwu lost her life after gunmen invaded her residence in the Federal Capital Territory. The circumstances of her death, which included a fatal fall as she attempted to flee the attackers, have left many Nigerians heartbroken and questioning the rising wave of insecurity in Abuja.
Speaking during a church program, Pastor Paul Enenche expressed deep grief over the death of the 29-year-old journalist, describing her killing as both senseless and cruel.
The cleric said Somtochukwu’s untimely passing has thrown her fiancé into unimaginable sorrow, noting that the young man had been preparing to marry her in just two months.
Enenche, visibly saddened, said the tragedy was more than a personal loss to her loved ones, but a reflection of a society increasingly threatened by violence.
According to him, the killers who cut short her promising life could not be regarded as human beings, but rather as “beasts and animals.”
The pastor went on to stress that such killings must be stopped, warning that the nation cannot continue to lose its brightest citizens to acts of lawlessness.
Pastor Enenche said: “I was told today that her fiancé, who was to marry her in just two months, wept like a baby. Such pain, such loss. I told someone, these are not human beings, these are animals, beasts, that killed this innocent person.” See, More, Here>>>
