Former Nigerian senator and political commentator Shehu Sani has reacted to the latest threats issued by U.S. President Donald Trump against Iran, arguing that Washington misunderstands the ideological foundation of the Iranian state.

In a post shared on his verified X account, Sani said Trump’s warnings of more bombings and “hell” would not force Iran to surrender because the country’s revolutionary leadership is driven by deeply rooted religious beliefs.

“If Trump had studied the religious ideological foundation of the Iranian revolution, he wouldn’t have been wasting his time warning them of more bombs and ‘Hell’,” Sani wrote.

The former lawmaker further argued that even the loss of Iran’s top leadership would not compel the country to capitulate. According to him, the Islamic Republic has endured decades of pressure, conflict and sanctions without abandoning the principles of the 1979 revolution.

“If the killing of their Supreme Leader and children couldn’t bow them, hitting their power lines and bridges will not,” he added.

Sani’s remarks come as tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to escalate following recent U.S. military strikes and threats against Iranian infrastructure. President Trump had earlier warned that Iran could face attacks on its oil facilities, power plants and other strategic assets if it failed to comply with U.S. demands.

The Nigerian politician suggested that such threats reveal a lack of understanding of Iran’s political and religious system. He maintained that Iran’s leaders and supporters see resistance as part of their ideological duty, making them less likely to be intimidated by military pressure. Read_More…
