Hon. Martin Amaewhule has criticized Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his handling of Rivers State financial matters. He said Rivers State is the only state without an appropriation law.

In a live coverage by Symfoni TV, Amaewhule said that the House of Assembly under his leadership has the power to impeach Governor Fubara if necessary. He said impeaching Fubara would only be considered as a last resort and he made it clear that no one is bigger than Rivers State.

In Amaewhule’s words: “As at today Rivers is the only state without an appropriation law. So it is important that we also state that they must not forget that the Rivers State House of Assembly has the mandate of the people and we swore an oath of allegiance to the constitution to do the needful, including the impeachment of Governor Fubara as a last resort. So if it becomes a last resort, we will not hesitate to impeach Fubara because no individual, including Fubara, is bigger than Rivers State”
