Former Kaduna State Senator Shehu Sani has raised concerns over the ability of foreign nations to support Nigeria in addressing its ongoing energy challenges. In a recent post on his official X page, Sani highlighted the escalating warnings exchanged between Iran and Israel, suggesting that both countries are more interested in their geopolitical conflicts than in aiding Nigeria.

Sani pointed out the irony of the situation: if both Iran and Israel genuinely care about Nigeria, they should take concrete actions to assist the country, particularly in developing its energy infrastructure. He specifically called for the creation and donation of power stations to alleviate the chronic electricity shortages that have plagued Nigeria.

He asserted that the failure of either country to contribute to Nigeria’s energy needs would reveal their true intentions. In his view, genuine concern for Nigeria would manifest through actionable support, rather than mere rhetoric.

On his Official X page, he said, “Isreal is warning us against Iran and Iran is warning us against Israel. If the two countries loves us that much,I command them to build power stations and donate to Nigeria. Any of the country that fails to do that is the one that doesn’t love us.If you can’t help us please keep quiet.”
