In a video shared on Symfoni TV from 9:41, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara addressed religious leaders, urging them to use their platforms responsibly.
Governor Fubara appealed, saying, “Let me also appeal to all the religious bodies in this state: please, your pulpit should be a place to talk about the progress, talk about the unification of the people of Rivers State.” He cautioned against using the pulpit to spread divisive messages, adding, “It shouldn’t be a point or an opportunity for people to speak to, as a fion, to abuse people, to say all sorts of things.”
Expressing particular concern about the misuse of the platform within places of worship, he continued, “I’m more worrisome in the house of God. Please, I want to beg you. You need to stop it, including myself.” In a gesture of accountability, he stated, “If I start shooting out of order, drag the mic from me.”
