The former governor of Anambra state and Labour Party, LP candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Gregory Obi has explained his statement concerning the fuel subsidy removal.

In the viral video that was posted by NEWS CENTRAL TV from 43.29, the former governor of Anambra state said he will remove fuel subsidy but not on the first day like President Bola Ahmed Tinubu did. He said the first thing he will do is to remove the criminality associated with the subsidy.

Peter Obi said;

“I said I will remove subsidy, I didn’t say from day 1. I said I will first remove the criminality associated with the subsidy because the criminality was over 50% of the subsidy. After removing it, we would have been able to present a detailed cost to Nigerians. We will now replace it with alternatives. What happens here is that people are ready to sacrifice but you can’t ask people to fast when you are feasting. Everybody has to fast at the same time”….Sêê _ Next
