During a recent interview with TVC News FROM 10:27, Chidi Lloyd, former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, reflected on his past endorsement of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and admitted his regret over his earlier confidence in Fubara’s ability to uphold the legacy of former Governor Nyesom Wike.
A year ago, on the same program, Lloyd had voiced strong support for Fubara, stating that the then-gubernatorial candidate had the pedigree to continue Wike’s legacy and even bet his right arm on Fubara’s ability to deliver. When the anchor reminded him of this statement, Lloyd responded with a mix of humor and regret.
“Absolutely, and I thank God you didn’t come for my right arm,” Lloyd remarked, acknowledging how much his perspective had changed. “I probably would have come to this studio as a physically challenged person,” he added, reflecting on the consequences of his misplaced confidence.
Lloyd humorously noted that he had forgotten the exact words he used in his earlier endorsement but now recognized the error in being so certain of Fubara’s loyalty and capabilities. “If you had insisted that my right arm be given because I said so, I would have come here to die as a physically challenged person,” Lloyd said, implying that the governor’s actions since taking office have not lived up to his expectations.
