According to The Sun, Apostle Victor Oku, Senior Pastor of Divine Mercy Church International in Lagos, has urged Nigerians to exercise patience with the administration of President Bola Tinubu. According to the cleric, the economic policies currently being implemented will soon start yielding positive outcomes. Oku, a prominent religious figure known for his predictions, addressed these issues during a recent interview, where he emphasized that the current hardships being faced by Nigerians are temporary and will improve as the government’s plans take effect.

During the interview, Apostle Oku responded to calls from some quarters for the return of the fuel subsidy, which was removed earlier this year as part of the government’s broader economic strategy. He argued against reintroducing the subsidy, warning that it would be a dangerous move since it was not included in the current year’s budget. Oku highlighted that reversing the removal of the subsidy could destabilize the economic plans that have been laid out and strain the nation’s finances further.

Apostle Oku, who had previously prophesied President Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election, reiterated his belief that Tinubu’s administration will ultimately improve the living standards of Nigerians. He acknowledged the widespread hunger and hardship currently faced by many citizens but attributed these issues to the economic challenges inherited from the previous administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari. Oku pointed out that the new government is focused on stabilizing the economy, which requires time and the cooperation of all Nigerians.

The cleric called for understanding, urging the public to be patient as the administration implements its plans. He mentioned that the economic burden being felt now is not solely a result of Tinubu’s policies but a continuation of the challenges that have been building over time. Oku maintained that Tinubu’s government is working on damage control measures to alleviate these issues.

Apostle Oku also alluded to the complexities of governance, noting that positive change cannot occur overnight. He stressed that the process of economic recovery involves addressing multiple layers of issues that have accumulated over the years. Oku urged citizens to keep faith in the government’s ability to navigate the current economic landscape effectively.

He said: Yes, I prophesied that Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win the 2023 Presidential election and he won. But I also told you that President Tinubu will do damage control before he can stabilise the economy, because he inherited economic burden from the immediate past administration led by former President Muhammadu Buhari. Again, I told you that a tree does not make a forest. Remember that I also emphasised that the people should be patient with the incoming government last year. And I’m using this opportunity to appeal to Nigerians to be patient with the present administration because very soon there will be light at the end of the tunnel….VïêwMôrê
