The Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland, Chief Gani Adams has reacted after the governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde announced that bandits are now fleeing from the North to Oyo state.
His reaction was contained in a report that was published on the official X handle of VANGUARD on Wednesday.
In the report that surfaced, the Oyo state governor stated that the bandits are fleeing from the North West region because of the military heat in their zones.
Here is what Seyi Makinde said;
“During a security briefing this morning, I learned that some bad elements from the North-West are relocating here due to military heat in their zones. But we will find and deal with them”.
Reacting to the report, Gani Adams stated that the matter needs to be addressed urgently. He urged all the governors in the South West to be vigilant and do the needful. Gani Adams said every attempt to turn Yorubaland into the foothold of bandits will be resisted.
He was quoted as saying that;
“I urge governors in the South West to be vigilant and do the needful by addressing the security situation in their respective states before it is too late. We will resist any attempt to turn Yorubaland into bandits and kidnappers’ foothold”.
