Bishop Matthew Kukah has stated that former Governor Nasir El-Rufai once boasted that he took away the deputy governorship position from Christians in Kaduna and gave it to a Muslim.

In an interview with Signature TV from 48:14, Kukah said since the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Christians from Southern Kaduna had not been appointed to major national positions. He stated that when Tinubu became president, he appointed General Christopher Musa, a Christian from Southern Kaduna, as Chief of Defence Staff. He added that although some people opposed the appointment, Tinubu did not reverse his decision.

Kukah also said Southern Kaduna now has a university, thanks to Vice President Kashim Shettima’s help.
