Former Senator Shehu Sani has counseled Niger Delta leader Asari Dokubo to exercise patience amid expressions of disappointment with the Tinubu administration, suggesting that rewards often transcend material benefits.

According to Daily Post, Dokubo announced a significant political shift, expressing remorse over previous political alignments. “I apologise to our fathers because they were not wrong in forming an alliance with the North, and as young men, we will now start that same alliance,” he stated.

The Niger Delta leader further detailed his grievances with the current administration. “From today, I will work and form an alliance with the North. President Tinubu betrayed me after I spent all my money and emptied my bank account campaigning for him. The Tinubu I know now isn’t the Tinubu I used to know. We will take this message across that only the Northerners can work with the Ijaw people,” Dokubo declared.

In response to these statements, former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, took to X (formerly Twitter) with a philosophical perspective. “Comrade Asari should calm down, the rewards for some sacrifices comes in spiritual forms and not in vanities,” Sani advised.

The exchange highlights growing tensions within Nigeria’s political landscape while underscoring different approaches to political disappointment and reward.
