In a recent interview with TVC News from 2.26, Dr. Samuel Nwanosike shared his frustration over being summoned by a judicial panel investigating attacks on the Local Government Secretariat. According to Nwanosike, he believes his involvement is politically motivated due to his opposition to some of the current governor’s decisions.
Nwanosike explained that he once had a good relationship with the current governor of Rivers State. However, he disagreed with the governor’s handling of government affairs and disobeyed court rulings. He felt that the governor was creating unnecessary conflicts rather than focusing on serving the people of Rivers State with fairness and justice.
Due to this disagreement, Nwanosike said the governor decided to shut down his hotel, which he had built in Port Harcourt. Nwanosike was told he violated building regulations and should pay a fine. However, while the standard fine was supposed to be 2 million naira, he was given a huge bill of 550 million naira instead.
Nwanosike believes this fine was intended as punishment for speaking out against the governor. He is challenging the decision in court, as he believes the action taken against him was unfair and influenced by personal issues rather than the law.
