Former ADC National Chairman Ralph Nwosu has alleged that he was offered a bribe to sabotage the emergence of the David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola leadership in the party, but turned it down out of a commitment to his legacy and his belief in democratic institution building.
Speaking in an interview from 4:26 with Arise TV, Nwosu said, “Assuming I succumbed to whatever they offered me, all my grown children would say: Daddy, is it all about money and power? Because I can tell you what is at play, because I experienced it during the processes that brought about David Mark. People followed me to almost every corner, thinking that I could be persuaded to assist them in ensuring there was no party standing,” he said.
Nwosu also stated that more than two decades of commitment to party building and democratic values made it impossible for him to take the bait. He also expressed surprise at the decision of former ADC Deputy National Chairman Nafiu Bala to challenge the Mark leadership in court, given that Bala had personally travelled across the Northwest and Northeast to persuade opposition leaders to adopt the ADC as their coalition platform ahead of 2027.
