A Former Governor of Edo State and Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, has remarked on the significant impact of Nyesom Wike’s administration as the FCT Minister, likening his appointment to acquiring a star player in sports. He suggested that Wike’s dynamic leadership has not only revitalized the FCT but also raised public awareness about its administration.
He stated that unlike in the past when even university students were unaware of the FCT Minister’s identity, today, primary school children can easily name Wike as the Minister. He concluded by emphasizing that the appreciation of Abuja residents for Wike’s efforts speaks volumes about his performance.
He said in a live coverage by Symfoni from 10:57, “When you are giving out your best player to another club, the kind of money you’ll pay is not small. So, for PDP to give us Wike to administer FCT… because we’ve had people there before that, even if you ask people in the university, ‘Who is the name of the minister?’ they don’t know. Today, if you ask primary school children, before you finish the question, they’ll tell you who the FCT Minister is. So, if the people of Abuja appreciate you, I don’t think you need more than that.”
