A former presidential candidate and a chieftain of the Labour Party, LP, Prof Pat Utomi, has disclosed that the current CBN Governor, Mr Yemi Cardoso, attended a certain retreat he offered, when he (Yemi Cardoso) was an Executive Director at Citizens Bank, in the 1990s.

Speaking further, he disclosed that some years later, as a commissioner in Lagos State, he (Yemi Cardoso) also attended another strategy sessions he offered Lagos State, free of charge, noting that he used to say it’s his citizen’s duty. He went on and noted that as a result of that, the then Governor of Lagos State, the current president nicknamed him “citizen.”

Professor Pat Utomi made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle on Tuesday afternoon.

He wrote: As Executive Director at Citizens Bank in the 1990s, current CBN Governor Yemi Cardoso, was in Strategy retreats I offered the Bank for considerable fees. Years later as Commissioner in Lagos State, he again participated in such strategy sessions I offered Lagos State, repeatedly free of charge.

“I used to say it was my citizen’s duty. This led then Lagos Governor now in the Villa, to give me the nickname Citizen. It all flowed from a simple principle.”….VìêwMorē
