Omoyele Sowore the former presidential candidate of the AAC, who was the Student Union leader at the University of Lagos in 1993, has spoken about his involvement in the fight to restore MKO Abiola’s mandate after the June 12 presidential election was annulled by General Ibrahim Babangida.
In an exclusive interview with Pulse Nigeria, Sowore stated that during meetings with Abiola’s camp, Bola Tinubu could not speak when he was speaking. He said this was because he and his team had strong influence. He said people respected him and his team a lot.
In Omoyele Sowore’s words: “If subsequently we would go to meetings even Tinubu, I had said this and it has never been disputed, cannot speak when I am speaking because we would come in, we had the streets and they listened to us and respected us better. And because we were also strange bed fellows with them”
