Sam Kargbo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has stated that former President Goodluck Jonathan made a serious mistake when he first assumed office as president after the death of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
In an interview with Silverbird TV from 18:55, Kargbo said Jonathan failed to carry along the people who had worked closely with Yar’Adua. He said from the very first day Jonathan became president, he disbanded Yar’Adua’s cabinet and decided to run the government with his own new team. He said many people believed that Jonathan dug his own political grave by taking that decision.
In Kargbo’s words: “Jonathan came in and refused to carry along Yar’Adua’s men. From day 1 he came in, disbanded the cabinet and went on his own. Many thought that that singular act dug his grave, from then he was fighting for his life. He did not need to do that if he had actually taken the baton and had carried along Yar’Adua’s men”
