Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, the former PDP Lagos governorship candidate, had earlier announced his return to the APC family. Speaking In a broadcast with Channels Television from 1:28, after his recent visit to Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Jandor highlighted the strategic steps that have marked his political homecoming.

Jandor revealed that the process began at the grassroots level. “If you’re returning to the party, or you want to join a new party, you go back to your local government to do that,” he said, explaining the significance of a declaration made at the local government level last Friday. His visit to the governor was the next official step to “inform him officially of our return to the party.”

He described his meeting with Governor Sanwo-Olu as warm and constructive. “Mr. Governor was very warm. He’s actually a gentleman. There’s nothing I didn’t do to provoke him. I poked him, poked him, but he stayed calm,” Jandor recalled. He added that the governor’s composure may be one of the reasons he has successfully retained his seat.

When asked what APC should expect with his return, Jandor emphasized the unity and strength his team brings. “You see us joining our numerical strength to the existing one of the political party, which will now strengthen the winning chances of the party,” he explained. Reflecting on the last election, he noted that division had weakened their efforts, but now “we’re together, we’re back.”

Looking ahead, Jandor is focused on the 2027 presidential election. “We want to see first how we can use our numerical strength to rally around the younger generation and see how we can return Mr. President back to office in 2027,” he said passionately. “I’ve said this over and over again that if we make that mistake and allow another of his generation to come into that space, we’re going to wait for another eight years, if not sixteen years.”

He also expressed gratitude to the governor and his team. “I want to thank him for this warm reception and all members of his cabinet too, and the party executive, especially his chairman, who actually led this delegation here.”
