During the recent Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) elections, there was an outbreak of violence that could have turned deadly. Ibianga Ezenwa, the former IYC financial secretary, who was caught up in the chaos has spoken about what she experienced.
In a recent video shared by Channels TV from 2:15, Ezenwa claimed that a group called the “Amama Soldiers”, a private security group linked to Asari Dokubo, helped prevent the situation from becoming more violent.
She said the Amama soldiers intervened just in time and prevented further harm to those involved. Ezenwa said she sustained an injury when she was attacked and nearly stabbed, but she managed to defend herself. She however said one of the attackers cut her with a bottle while defending herself.
Ezenwa also urged authorities to look into the conduct of Asikitamunoprim Edward, one of the individuals involved in the election.
In Ezenwa’s words: “As a matter of fact, it was the Amama Soldiers that came that were able to control the condition. If not for them we would have been dead. Look at my hand, they tried to stab me and I held them but the bottle cut me”
