Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has warned Mrs. Unoma Akpabio, the wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, to stay out of her issue with her husband, as reported by DAILY POST.

The disagreement began when Akpoti-Uduaghan refused to sit in a designated seat during a Senate session.

She cited Order 10 of the Senate Standing Rules as her reason.

The issue later expanded when she accused Akpabio of blocking her motions and intimidating her.

She also alleged that he made unwanted advances toward her.

Mrs. Akpabio responded to the claims at a press conference in Abuja and dismissed the allegations, calling them baseless.

She said both families had always been on good terms before Akpoti-Uduaghan’s marriage.

On March 1, 2025, Akpoti-Uduaghan sent a letter to Mrs. Akpabio through her lawyer, Victor Giwa.

In the letter, she advised her to stay away from the matter and stated that the accusations were directed at the Senate President and that he should defend himself.

Akpoti-Uduaghan stressed that she had tolerated harassment from Akpabio for too long.

She said she was forced to reveal the intimidation she had suffered in the Senate and insisted she had enough evidence to support her claims.

The senator urged Mrs. Akpabio to allow her husband to handle the situation himself and advised her to focus on protecting her family.

Akpoti-Uduaghan also reaffirmed her support for Nigerian women and stated that she remained committed to family values and principles.

“Our client is not desirous of calling you out into the unfortunate saga concerning her allegations against the Senate President and wishes that you restrain yourself from delving into the obscene circumstances.”

“Our client has concrete evidence to substantiate her allegations. We suggest that you leave the defense of these allegations to the Senate President to maintain your sanity and that of your family,” the letter stated.
