Popular relationship therapist and social media influencer, Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has broken her silence following the arrest of her fiance, Ikechukwu Ogbonna, widely known as IVD.
IVD, a well-known Lagos-based car dealer, was reportedly arrested by the Lagos State Police Command at the airport while attempting to travel to Qatar. According to PM News, The arrest, which occurred on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, is linked to a long-standing domestic violence case from 2022 involving the tragic death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.
The case has remained a source of public controversy, and Blessing CEO, who has been openly supportive of IVD, has now described the arrest as unjust and politically motivated.
Taking to social media, she revealed that IVD had just reissued a missing passport and was not under any known travel restrictions. Despite this, he was reportedly detained by the police with no formal charges or statements filed against him at the time of arrest.
Blessing expressed frustration, alleging that IVD’s late wife’s family were using their influence to target him unfairly. She also accused certain bloggers of spreading unverified information, claiming even the police were unaware of many of the details being circulated online.
She described the entire situation as both emotional manipulation and an abuse of legal power.
In a strongly worded message posted on her platform, Blessing wrote:
“They are pushing me so hard. I will drop this love and come out with my full garment. They are bullying IVD, and it’s getting out of hand. IVD is innocent. I am not a coward; these people are using my man. I won’t tolerate this anymore.”
Her statement has since gone viral, sparking mixed reactions on social media. While some of her followers supported her outcry, others criticized her continued involvement with IVD, given the gravity of the allegations surrounding his late wife’s death.
Blessing CEO has remained one of IVD’s most vocal defenders since the case resurfaced. She has consistently maintained his innocence, often accusing those close to Bimbo of manipulating public perception and using legal means to harass him.
As the situation unfolds, legal experts say IVD’s arrest could either signal renewed efforts to revive the investigation or reflect underlying tensions surrounding the unresolved case.
Meanwhile, human rights groups have called for a fair and transparent process, emphasizing the importance of due process and the need to avoid trial by media or emotional sentiment.
