During an Arise TV interview from 4:02, APC chieftain Biodun Ajiboye responded to controversial statements made by former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and allegations involving former Ekiti Governor Kayode Fayemi regarding the NADECO movement.
When asked by the interviewer about El-Rufai’s characterization of NADECO activities as fake and Fayemi’s alleged comments dismissing subsidy protests as political deception, Ajiboye offered a pointed response.
Regarding Fayemi’s purported statements, Ajiboye suggested misrepresentation, saying: “I want to believe Fayemi was quoted out of context because Fayemi ran with NADECO, so Fayemi knew what he went through during the NADECO days. So Fayemi could not have said that.”
He demanded verification of the claims, stating: “And if anybody believes he said that, I would like to at least see evidence that he said that.”
However, Ajiboye’s response to El-Rufai’s comments was notably more severe. He made a provocative suggestion about the former governor’s wellbeing, declaring: “Two, with respect to El-Rufai, it’s about time we start to consider his mental health. I have every reason to believe that there’s a little bit of challenge with respect to his mental health.”
The exchange highlights growing tensions within political circles over historical narratives surrounding Nigeria’s democratic struggles and current policy debates. See, More, Here>>>>
