In a dramatic twist of events, Borno South lawmaker, Senator Ali Ndume has commended president Tinubu for his recent ‘Nigeria First Policy’. According to his statements which were shared by VANGUARD, he pointed out that it was heartwarming to hear that president Tinubu has taken the bold decision to ban imported goods.
The policy proposed by president Tinubu to ban imported goods that can be produced locally generated controversies after the reports went viral across various social media platforms. While many criticized the policy, pointing out that it was a deviation from pressing national matters, others commended the president for his bold move.
Reacting, Senator Ali Ndume, Borno South lawmaker who was a well known vocal critic of the presidency and it’s policies, commended the President’s decision to intervene.
According to his statements which were made available to the general public by VANGUARD, today being Tuesday the 6th day of May 2025, the Senator made it known that it was heartwarming to hear that the president has taken the bold decision.
He further pointed out that the decision will be a major boost for domicile business amid the harsh conditions of the Nigerian economy.

“It is heartwarming to hear that President Tinubu has taken this bold decision to ban imported goods that can be produced locally.
“This will be a major boost for indigenous businesses amid the slipping Nigerian economy.” He said.
The statements from Senator Ali Ndume however, stirred mixed reactions from the general public as many were unaware of the motives behind his recent commendation of president Tinubu, whom he had vehemently criticized days ago.
