According to a report that was published on the official X account of VANGUARD, renowned journalist, author and columnist, Ike Abonyi, who was present when the candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Gregory Obi and human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju held a meeting, has explained what he witnessed.
This came after the human rights activist accused the former governor of Anambra state of trying to bribe him with money when he visited him.
In the report that surfaced online, Abonyi dismissed the claims that were made by the human rights activist. Abonyi said it would be unfair if he doesn’t speak on the matter. The journalist said during the meeting, the former governor of Anambra state didn’t offer him money.
He said he is surprised that Deji Adeyanju is coming up with such claims. Abonyi said he expects Deji Adeyanju who is now a lawyer to do things in the right way.
According to VANGUARD, Abonyi said that;
“It would be unfair to my conscience as a Christian and a journalist to allow Deji Adeyanju to continue with this false narrative. Obi simply shared his life and political journey as he has always done publicly. Nothing more”
