Nigerian football star Rasheedat Ajibade has spoken openly about a spiritual transformation that reshaped her beliefs and outlook on life.

In an interview with With Chude, Ajibade explained that she grew up in a household influenced by both Islam and Christianity. She followed Islam during her early years, but as a young girl, she started sensing divine instructions in ways she didn’t anticipate.

One message, in particular, stayed with her: “The Lord told me to clear out everything that didn’t reflect Him. I wasn’t sure what that meant at first—was there something physical I had to remove?” After making adjustments, she felt spiritually uplifted, though the journey was far from smooth.

“It was a struggle because I identified as a Muslim,” she said. “I didn’t know how to respond or even how to face the public when everyone knew my background.”

As time passed, Ajibade came to understand that God reveals Himself in unexpected forms. Gradually, she accepted and began to follow this new spiritual calling.

Today, she says the passion and zeal for her faith overwhelm her.
