Kanayo Esinulo, who worked closely with Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu during his time in exile, has spoken about how Kenneth Kaunda supported Ojukwu. Esinulo served as Ojukwu’s private secretary while he lived in Ivory Coast for 12 years after the Biafran War.

In an exclusive interview with Edmund Obilo, Esinulo said that after the war ended, the very first person who sent help to Ojukwu was Kenneth Kaunda, who was then the President of Zambia. He said Kaunda sent someone to deliver money to Ojukwu and the money was meant to help him feed and take care of himself during those hard times.
