In a heartfelt interview with Seun Okinbaloye on Channels Television from 00:01 to 03:29, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa reflected on the profound impact and vision of his predecessor, the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who passed away without witnessing Aiyedatiwa’s governorship victory which he spoke about when he was alive.

Expressing his grief, Governor Aiyedatiwa described Akeredolu as a visionary leader whose foresight played a pivotal role in shaping the state’s leadership transition. “It is so painful and sad that he didn’t live to see the manifestation of what he himself spoke about,” Aiyedatiwa said during the interview.

The governor highlighted Akeredolu’s unwavering belief in his potential to succeed him. “I do refer to himself sometimes as the man who saw tomorrow. He knew that I was going to succeed him because he wanted me to succeed him and he wanted to give me his full backing,” he said.
