According to Al Jazeera, she condemned Israel’s actions, describing them as “gangster style assassination and extrajudicial executions,” which she believes are intended to “inflame the whole region.”

Ashrawi highlighted the targeted killings of two key figures: Hamas’s political chief, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran, and Hezbollah’s military commander, Fuad Shukr, in Beirut, Lebanon. According to Ashrawi, these assassinations were not only direct attacks on the capitals of sovereign states but also strategic moves to “sabotage any chances” of achieving a ceasefire in Gaza and reducing regional tensions.
