According to a report by The Times of Israel, Mossad director David Barnea declared that Israel possesses intelligence and operational capabilities deep inside Tehran that have yet to be deployed, emphasizing the agency’s reach within Iran.

His remarks were delivered during the Prime Minister’s Award ceremony, where the Mossad was honored for its achievements.

“We have won, and we will continue to win,” Barnea said, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office. “Though we proved that Iran is penetrable, we are not letting up. The Mossad has very strong operational capabilities, even more imaginative and powerful than before — especially inside Iran and even in the heart of Tehran.”

Barnea emphasized that Israel will not ease its pressure on Tehran. “We will continue to build and strengthen our capabilities in Iran, to keep our eyes open from within Iran on what is happening behind closed doors, and we will not allow ideas that could endanger our security to grow,” he pledged.

His comments highlighted the ongoing intelligence battle between Israel and Iran, as tensions remain high over Tehran’s nuclear ambitions and its support for armed groups across the region. Israel has long accused Iran of pursuing nuclear weapons under the guise of a civilian program, while Iran insists its activities are peaceful.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who attended the event, has consistently described Iran as Israel’s greatest security threat. The award ceremony was held on the one-year anniversary of the so-called “beeper” operation, in which Israel detonated thousands of pagers used by Hezbollah operatives. The dramatic incident was widely reported as a show of Israel’s intelligence and technological reach against Iran’s most powerful proxy in Lebanon.

Barnea’s statements appeared aimed at reinforcing deterrence, signaling to Tehran and its allies that Israeli intelligence remains active and capable of striking in unexpected ways. While he did not disclose details of the operations or the unused capabilities, his assertion that Mossad has resources “in the heart of Tehran” suggested that Israel maintains covert access at the highest levels.

The Mossad chief’s comments come amid heightened regional instability, with Iran-backed groups engaged in confrontations across the Middle East. For Israel, maintaining an intelligence advantage inside Iranian territory is viewed as essential to countering potential threats before they materialize. See, More, Here>>>>
