According to a report by The Times Of Israel, Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz has issued a stark threat to assassinate the leader of Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi movement following a wave of drone and missile attacks launched against Israel.
Responding to the strikes, Katz directly warned Houthi chief Abdul-Malik al-Houthi on social media. “Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, your time will come. You will be sent to meet your government plenary and all the eliminated members of the axis of evil who are waiting in the depths of hell,” he wrote on X. Katz’s remarks signal Israel’s growing readiness to escalate its military response beyond defensive measures.
He further declared that the Houthis’ long-standing anti-Israel slogan would ultimately be replaced by Israeli symbols. “The slogan ‘Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews’ written on the Houthi flag will be replaced by the Israeli blue-and-white flag that will fly over the capital of a united Yemen,” Katz added, vowing that the group’s campaign against Israel would end in its own destruction.
His comments come after an Israeli airstrike in Yemen on August 28 killed the prime minister of the Houthi government and at least 11 other senior ministers. The attack marked one of Israel’s most significant operations against the group in Yemen to date, underscoring the intensifying confrontation between the two sides.
The latest incident occurred yesterday when a Houthi explosive drone hit a hotel in Israel’s southernmost city of Eilat. Israeli air defenses intercepted two additional drones as well as a ballistic missile launched in the same assault. Although the strike caused property damage, Israeli authorities did not immediately report casualties.
Since March 18, when the Israel Defense Forces resumed their offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the Houthis have significantly ramped up their attacks on Israeli territory. According to Israeli officials, the group has launched 87 ballistic missiles and more than 40 drones toward Israel during this period.
Katz’s threats highlight the mounting tensions as Israel signals it may expand its campaign to directly target Houthi leadership, aiming to deter further attacks and dismantle the group’s operational capabilities. See, More, Here>>>>
