Iran has fortified 2,200 kilometers (1,367 miles) of its southern coastline with advanced weaponry, and even bunker-buster bombs cannot damage its underground missile facilities, according to the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy, Alireza Tangsiri.
Iran International English reports that while speaking about Iran’s military infrastructure, Tangsiri revealed that the country has built heavily protected missile bases deep beneath the mountains along its southern shores.
“Military facilities have been built beneath the high mountains of the southern coast,” he said, emphasizing that Iran’s underground missile cities remain secure from external attacks.
Iran has long been developing extensive underground military complexes, designed to house missile systems and strategic defense assets. The country has previously showcased footage of these bases, boasting their ability to launch missiles while remaining concealed from enemy forces.
Tangsiri’s remarks come amid heightened regional tensions, with Iran continuing to assert its military strength in the Persian Gulf. The IRGC Navy has repeatedly warned against any foreign intervention in Iranian waters, vowing to defend its territorial integrity with advanced missile capabilities.
