According to a report by The Times Of Israel on March 27, 2026, Iran’s military has warned that hotels housing US soldiers across the region would be targets in its war with the United States and Israel.
The warning was delivered by Iran’s armed forces spokesman Abolfazl Shekarchi during an appearance on state television, where he described how civilian hotel sites could be treated as military-linked locations if US troops are present.
“When all the Americans (forces) go into a hotel, then from our perspective that hotel becomes American,” armed forces spokesman Abolfazl Shekarchi tells state television on Thursday.
He argued that the presence of American forces inside hotels effectively turns those buildings into extensions of US military infrastructure, making them subject to retaliation under Iran’s response strategy, which he said is driven by ongoing strikes against Iranian positions.
“Should we just stand by and let the Americans strike us? When we respond, naturally, we have to strike wherever they are.”
The remarks come amid heightened tensions between Tehran, Washington and Tel Aviv, with Iranian officials repeatedly signalling that any American military presence in the region could expand the scope of legitimate targets if hostilities continue.
Officials in Tehran have increasingly warned that US and Israeli military actions will be met with proportional responses, broadening potential targets beyond conventional military installations. They also warn that civilian infrastructure hosting foreign troops could be treated as operationally linked sites under future retaliation military doctrine. Read_More…
