Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced what he described as a major breakthrough in Israel’s ongoing military campaign against Iran, claiming that senior Iranian figures have been eliminated in targeted operations.
In an official statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office of Israel, Netanyahu said Israeli forces had killed Ali Larijani, whom he described as a leading figure within Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guards.
According to Netanyahu, the operation also resulted in the death of a commander from the Basij, a paramilitary force affiliated with Iran’s security structure. He accused both groups of playing key roles in enforcing control and suppressing dissent within Iran.
“This morning, we eliminated Ali Larijani,” Netanyahu stated, adding that Israeli operations are continuing through coordinated air strikes and unmanned aerial vehicle missions targeting Iranian positions.
The Israeli leader said the broader objective of the campaign is to weaken Iran’s ruling system and create conditions that could allow the Iranian people to challenge their government.
“We are undermining this regime in the hope of giving the Iranian people an opportunity to remove it,” he said, while acknowledging that such an outcome would take time and sustained effort.
Netanyahu also confirmed ongoing coordination with the United States, revealing that he recently held discussions with Donald Trump. He described close military cooperation between the two countries, including joint efforts involving air and naval forces.
“There is cooperation between our air forces and navies,” he said, adding that both direct and indirect actions are being used to increase pressure on Iran.
The prime minister hinted at further undisclosed operations, suggesting that additional strategic moves are planned but would not be made public.
Domestically, Netanyahu called for unity and resilience among Israelis, emphasizing what he described as the importance of determination in achieving victory. Read_More…
