According to a report by Dailypost on Tuesday 8 July, 2025, Iran has updated its official casualty figures from the recent war with Israel, confirming that more than 1,060 people lost their lives in the 12-day conflict and cautioning that the death toll could still increase as some victims remain critically injured.

The revised toll was presented by Saeed Ohadi, who leads Iran’s Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs, during a state television broadcast on Monday night. “We may see the death toll reach 1,100 given the severity of injuries sustained by some of the wounded,” he stated.

Throughout the war, Iran sustained repeated strikes from Israeli forces, which targeted several strategic points, including air defense sites, military compounds, and sections of its nuclear program. Though officials initially minimized the reported damage, the scale of destruction has slowly been acknowledged in the weeks following the ceasefire.

Despite offering updated death figures, Iranian authorities continue to withhold specifics on military equipment losses and structural damage.

Separately, the U.S.-based Human Rights Activists group released a broader casualty report, listing 1,190 fatalities, including 436 civilians and 435 personnel from Iran’s security forces. The organization also estimated that more than 4,475 individuals were injured during the hostilities.
