A Former Deputy Chief of Staff of the White House National Security Council, Richard Goldberg has asserted that Iran perceives former President Donald Trump as a greater threat than the Vice President, Kamala Harris. He highlighted that Trump was responsible for significant actions against Iran, including the targeted kìlling of Qasem Soleimani, a high-ranking Iranian military official.

He pointed out that during Trump’s presidency, Iran faced considerable pressure regarding its nuclear ambitions, as Trump threatened decisive action if Iran advanced its nuclear program. He conveyed a sense of urgency, warning that Iran should not miscalculate their position by believing they could act aggressively or develop their capabilities without facing severe consequences.

He said in an interview with Fox News from 3:51, ‘Iran fears former President Trump more than they fear President Biden. And I don’t think that’s a question for anyone. We know that Iran had a preference in the election, and they were interfering in other ways to try to influence the election results. Iran knows that one candidate was responsible for taking out Qasem Soleimani.

He [Trump] was threatening to potentially take out its nuclear program if they crossed the nuclear threshold. And there was pressure on them for the last two years of his administration. So, Iran has a lot to fear at the moment, and I hope they do not miscalculate, believing that they need to flex their muscles or race forward with some sort of capability. Because they will not like the result from the president-elect.”
