A senior Iranian military spokesperson had claimed that the attempt of the American Government to replicate Iran’s famed Shahed-136 drone was the ultimate admission of Washington’s inferiority in unmanned warfare.
According to a report by the Iran News Agency on Tuesday 9 December, 2025, Brigadier General Shekarchi, the cultural deputy of Iran’s General Staff of the Armed Forces, framed the alleged replication of Iran’s famed Shahed-136 drone by the United States of America as a strategic humiliation for a supposed global superpower, stating “There is no greater honor than seeing those who claim to be global powers kneel before the Iranian Shahed-136 and attempt to copy it.”
He also positioned Iran’s military, especially the IRGC Aerospace Force, as a direct and effective challenger to US-dominated global security architecture, stating “Iran’s armed forces… are a thorn in the side of the global hegemonic system,” further underscoring the narrative of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran under the leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as a successful asymmetrical power, capable of developing cost-effective technologies that rival, and potentially undermined far wealthier adversaries, thereby reshaping regional power dynamics.
The top Iranian military General, Brigadier General Shekarchi went further to claim that the enemy of the Iranian nation, referring to Israel’s recent unprecedented strikes on Iranian nuclear and missile facilities, which reportedly killed senior military figures and nuclear scientists was defeated despite possessing the most advanced defense system, and full support from the United States, and stated that Israel ultimately sought to end hostilities through requests and messaging.
He also stated that Iran had rigorously analyzed the recent conflict, declaring that the nation had since addressed shortcomings, strengthened its capabilities, and was now far more prepared than on the first day of the aggression.
